Acupuncture & In Vitro Fertilization:

Electro-Acupuncture consisting of eight visits 4-6 weeks prior to egg retrieval: normalizes uterine arterial blood flow (Human Reproduction, Vol.11, No.6, 1996), optimizes uterine lining, increases the number and quality of embryos and oocytes, calms the client, promotes a sense of well being and decreases stress throughout the IVF process.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medical treatment for male factor infertility beginning 3-4 months prior to In Vitro procedure.

Useful for ALL anticipated ICSI cycles.

Treatment of women with high FSH levels or history of poor stimulation in prior IVF or superovulation cycles

Stress reduction for both partners

Cost effective, safe, and very relaxing, our treatments typically increase the overall cost of an IVF cycle by only 3-5%. The positive impact on the success of an IVF cycle is well worth the expense.

Please call our office as soon as you know you will be doing In Vitro Fertilization. We prefer to start your care about 4-6 weeks prior to your egg retrieval. Your nurse coordinator will give you approximate dates for this. If you have a known underlying medical condition causing your infertility, it may be helpful for you to begin treatment earlier than this time frame. You are welcome to call for an initial evaluation to make those personal determinations. If there is a male factor involved, we prefer to treat the man 3-4 months prior to the In Vitro Procedure, as sperm cell production takes about 3 months time. While these time frames are ideal, we are happy to work with you at any stage of your treatment.
